Sword
This sword features an approx. 130mm long hilt made of PVC pipe with a grip approx. 100mm in length and 26.6mm in diameter. The 20mm thick foam blade is pool noodle cut to approx. 400mm long. The foam blade grips tightly onto the PVC pipe allowing easy replacement should I ever need to. To do this, all I have to do is firmly grip the pool noodle and pvc pipe and then rotate whilst pulling the pool noodle off the PVC pipe.
The PVC pipe underneath the Foam Blade is approx. 420mm long, of which 300mm goes into the foam blade, approx. 20mm into the PVC cap (pommel) at the end of the hand grip and the remainder for the approx. 100mm long handle. The Swords length overall is approx. 535mm. I added a string loop at the end of the pummel by drilling a hole through the pvc cap and adding rope so I can hangit off my shorts between rounds using my homemade waist clip with hook. Watch my DIY Foam dagger YouTube video to see more detail on how the pommel is made and how to remove and replace the pool noodle.
